Introduction[edit]

If you are looking for a long hiking day with a few mildly spicy down-climbs, then this route is for you. You will get plenty of exercise on the hike out. Bring rope if there are no seasoned canyoneers in the group who can down-climb and assist beginners. The canyon never slots up and gets narrow. Just before the confluence with Sycamore Canyon, there is an interesting pock-marked red sandstone wall on the left.

Approach[edit]

All trail except the final drop into the gulley about 500 feet.

Descent[edit]

Technical section has 5 down climbs, 2 of which may require a hand line or partner assist, longest is the final one at 30 feet.

Exit[edit]

Just before Sycamore Canyon there is a trail sign on the right for "Ott Lake". All trail but a lot of work for essentially a non-technical canyon.
