Introduction
Not really a canyon just 1 long abseil in a cleft in the clifflike
Approach
From the road make your way down to the cliff edge, staying on the ridge and out of the hanging swamp misses the worst of the scrub until the end.
Descent
From the top of the waterfall it's about a 58m abseil but the anchor tree is a long way back from the edge. 70m ropes recommended
Exit
From the Pool of Aphrodite follow the cliff line around to the right (Upstream) a footpad comes and goes but make your way up to the exit gully at MR 472 056. Follow the minor nose NNW to an old trail up the northern most tributary, then up to the road.

Background
The Aphrodite Pool was so named by Michael Keats on his Bush Club walk, 31st October 2007. Michael described the area as, "shakespearean Romantic, vast and grand, decked with ferns and waterfall."
