Introduction[edit]
A relatively quick easy canyon to do starting from Chantry Flat with lots of sliding down through leaf matter and sandy canyon walls.
Approach[edit]
Walk from Chantry Flat parking lot area the road to Upper Winter Creek trail. Follow the trail for a ways then drop right into the canyon.
While it isn't overwhelming in canyon, be aware of poison oak in the area and occasionally at the top and bottom of the canyon.
Descent[edit]
r1 - 110ft, Anchor on tree DCR r2 - 30ft, Anchor to tree DCR r3 - 15ft, Anchor to whatever debris is available.
It's possible the second two rappels are downclimbs when the canyon is dry. It's likely possible to avoid all rappels in this canyon if you're committed to not using rope and walking around down shoulders and such.
Exit[edit]
Walk down Winter Creek trail and connect to the trail going back up to the Chantry Flat parking area.

Background[edit]
Dangel and Christine were given this canyon as a search area while looking for a missing person. The two canyons south of this one were also descended by other groups. One canyon had 1x 115 foot rappel, the other was nontechnical. While having a slightly shorter rappel, this canyon seemed the best of the three.
