Introduction
A short, packraft accessible canyon on Canyon Lake in the Superstitions.
Approach
Launch a packraft from the Acacia picnic area on Canyon Lake and head north, crossing the lake to locate the first obvious break in the cliffs on your right. Pack up your raft and hike east up and over the steep, crumbly slope and down into the canyon on the other side of the saddle. Once in the canyon drainage turn right and head down canyon to the south.
Descent
R1: 40' off rock pinch.
R2: 30' off boulder with an awkward start. Mind the rope / biner eating crack.
R3: 70' off boulder through rabbit hole. Two stages (10' + 60').
Exit
Continue under the enormous boulder and the base of the last rappel back to the lake to find a suitable place to inflate your raft (a bit tricky, careful of sharp rocks and brush) and head off across the lake to the southwest back to the beach at Acacia.
Red tape
A Tonto pass is required to park at the Acacia picnic area.
