Introduction[edit]

Cockerawombeeba creek (Cocky) is a very pretty & rocky creek walk with a few rappels & jumps in a rainforrest setting. The creek can be very slippery & care must be taken.

  • Approach[edit]

    Follow the Hasting Forest Way from Beechwood. Turn left into Forbes River Rd for 1km, then right into Rimau Rd down hill to bridge extit. Park on right before the bridge. This is the exit. Leave a car here & start the car shuttle back up the way you come. Turn left on Hastings Forest Way & park on the quarry entry to start the creek walk in. Do not block the quary gate!

    Easy but slippery creek walking until the drops begin
    J1 1m CM Jump into center of small pool at the first rock feature before cascade
    J2 2m CR Down climb slippery cascade on CR. Jump out into large pool
    R1/J3 10m CR x bolt on boulder into right of flow to pool. Potential jump in high water.
    R2 55m CL xx bolts in flow to pool.
    R3 25m CM xx bolts L side of boulder. Rappel edge of flow to shallow pool.
    J4 2m CM Downclimb cascade & jump into the edge of flow entering pool. May be bypassed CR in high flow.
    Creek walking section to exit.
