Comments: This is a really great route with lots of memorable features! We drove the dirt trail to the canyon head and camped. Nice and secluded. Have good route finding skills with Gaia to get here. There are no mapped trails and alot of slick rock areas where you can easily loose your way. Rough and rocky. Stock 4wd is fine.
Canyon starts with a lovely 200’ wall! There are some neat stemming sections to stay dry above pools. One unavoidable pool we floated across in a packraft. Some really neat rooms. I removed that ugly wire ladder some misguided fool installed...
Beautiful big keeper potholes that you wouldnt dare to jump into (avoidable). Neat alcoves and fun down-climbable sculpted cracks. It’s all over too quickly as the river comes into sight. Canyon took is 2hrs to beach. Water level low and we found a stance we could inflate on. In the past in high water levels we had to hike up stream a ways to a beach near the “descending sheep wall” petroglyphs.
Took is an hour to get gear situated for the river. Paddle out took 3hrs. More beautiful walls!! River moving quick. 4/3 wetsuits were warm.

Comment: Great canyon, a big entrance rappel, a good narrows section, and sweeping views from the final sequence. Most drops are bolted or have pitons. Many smaller drops can be downclimbed. This canyon could benefit from a few removed bolts and removal of the large cable in the narrows. Other than that, very pretty.
