Comments: the roads to the top of Angel Cove were in great shape. Suggest 4 wheel high clearance in places. Easy approach to the canyon. The canyon was dry. All anchors were in great shape.

Comment: Two of us did the North and South Fork of Angle Cove as a continuous loop. Our hope was that we would be able to ascend the fixed ropes in the North Fork but in reading recent trip reports we figured the fixed lines would not be present. Upon descending the North Fork it was confirmed the lines were not there. This just meant we did the main section and lower exit twice.

We descended the North Fork and the final optional drops on the Main, exited via the river up to the junction with the South Fork, went down the South Fork and then skipped the final two drops on our way back up to the trailhead.

The North Fork is kind of dull in my opinion and not really recommended. If you do it, it will likely be a one-and-done scenario. The South Fork is not mind blowing but an interesting casual canyon that I do recommend. If descending Angle Cove it is worth rappeling the the final two drops on the Main down to the river.

The South Fork starts with a short 15 foot drop off a cairn anchor. This drop is slightly over hung but there is a decent foot placement in the overhang. We found the webbing all knotted up so we re-did it putting in a courtesy anchor with a frost-knot loop. Being overhung it is awkward for the last person to do the hard start on the courtesy anchor and there is a potential for shock loading the anchor. However, it can be done smoothly; and, the foot placement under the lip will help.

One anchor we chose to fiddle off of (rather than rebuild) since it didn't extend over the edge. You rappel over a chockstone at the edge and it looked like the rope could have gotten pinched between the stone and the wall.
