Comments: Cut and Replaced R1 webbing as log jam moved and original anchor was caught by a log and pulled too tight to free up. Def been some logs moved or shifted but anchors are still in place. The big Y shaped log on top of final rap was flushed out and both sides are clear. Walking in the pool below final R, seems like a lot of the debris/logs have moved down creek. Great time to get in there!

Comment: Dropped by for flow check. Woody debris at R3 and in pool above R4 may have been blown out…? Might be prudent to bring bolt kit in case R3 anchor is gone. Sign near trailhead about mountain lion and cubs being spotted in the vicinity.

Comment: The creek was beautiful and fun in current water levels. However during the creek walk after R1 approaching a small cascade DCR the rocky creek floor fell out from under me pulling down into a 3foot hole between the rocks and a large log spanning the width of the creek. There are logs in the pool below R2. During rope pull R2 a large log came loose and fell into the pool above R4. Both large logs barely hanging on the lip of R4 were dislodged and fell over the falls. The Anchors at R4 are nicely place!

Comment: We hiked into look at it. It was too high to run safely.

Comment: After work descent of Archer. Approach only took 15 minutes.1 hour 20 car to car. New bolts are great. slick in spots.

Comment: After work jaunt to local Portland canyon. Trail in has been improved since last year, tho' the creek seems to have taken a beating this last winter with a lot of new logs and woody debris in the drops. We removed a bunch, but there's still more to be done. If every team passing through would help remove a little bit, that'd be great. Anchors missing at every drop except R2. Replaced. Added a new bolt station DCR on the final rappel. The log we used to use for an anchor is not at all safe. Do not use! Beware rockfall on the final rappel.

Comment: Quick after work run (in the rain). The anchor on R4 was moved to a log wedged vertically in the pool about 10ft back from the lip. This position puts the rapel line directly in the flow.

Comment: Short fun after work outing. Future parties should use caution on R4: there are large cracks on the DCL side of the log that's being used as an anchor. Hard to say how deep they run, but the log flexes minutely when put under load. A good portion of the surface area around the crack is rotten/spongy and could be scraped away with one's fingers. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. I think we'll need to come back and put some bolts in ere long. Knocked some more rocks down -- do not linger in the landing zone below.

Comment: Fun little narrows and nice after-work run. Flow was great. Beware rockfall on the final rappel. One person on our team got struck several times per the rope moving around above.

Comment: Went today and the flows were sporty. Went DCL on the last rap and it was wild. Be mindful of the root ball if you choose to go this way. This is a good run for the winter months. Replaced last anchor as the log it was connected to was floating freely in the pool.

Comment: First descent on Lower Archer. A surprisingly fun little creek. It's short enough one could run laps on it or combine with other short destinations in the area (ex: Souther Creek near Stevenson). Access is terrific. A great day out in December!
