Comments: A great adventure -- one of the best things to do in the area. Lots of beautiful flora and fauna to see on the approach hike through the jungle. Recommend starting early so you can spend a few hours playing in the arch.
Giving it 5 stars despite a few hiccups: We got paired up with a guide who was a surly teenager. (Apparently there are more "official" guides in town, but who you get kind of depends on who you run into when you arrive in town.) He didn't know how to swim so didn't rappel down with us, and was terrified of rain and snakes; he was not psyched to be doing this and was pressuring us to leave the arch before we wanted, and telling us we were going to die by being bitten by venomous snake. If possible, try to connect with the owner of the cabanas who will ensure you have a more qualified guide.
The heat/humidity on the exit is no joke; if you're not acclimated it can be difficult (I am not, apparently, and had to take many breaks on the hike out because sweat was not absorbing from my skin and my body was overheating).
Also, try not to show up in town the one day a year that the termites have their nuptial flight (usually right after the first big rain), or you will literally get chased out of town by giant swarms of thousands of termites with wings (luckily(?) this occurred after we finished the hike).
Special challenges marked because of required rope ascent.
