Comments: Stopped by on the way back from a North Wash Trip. Very scenic and unique canyon. If I were to come back I think I would do it top down and rappel in the first drop. The climb out was relatively easy but slightly exposed. Saw many owls in the canyon.

Comment: Only had a few hours to kill, so parked at the dam and hiked upstream through the canyon. Must have seen at least nine owls. Totally surreal canyon carved through the basalt. Upper end has a few scrambly sections and one chimney that requires some easy low 5th moves to get up. The rock formations are fascinating. Next time need to spend more time and go explore the upper canyon!
