Comments: Warm day, canyon was bone dry. Down climbed all but last drop. Removed boat rope and webbing from several anchors. The safety was dubious and they will only strain the anchors when they become tangled in flood debris.

Comment: New Years Day! Short fun run to ring in the year before setting up camp. New glue in U bolts are much simpler than the mess of bolts, chains, and pitons in the canyon previously. Cut out some boat rope fixed to one anchors.

Comment: Easy and fun short route. 4 optional rappels with bolted anchors.

Water was knee deep in a few spots. Fun exit 1.5 hours car to car.

Comment: A few shallow but avoidable pools. Didn’t need to break out the rope. Lots of sand along the walls from recent rains which made downclimbing just a bit trickier. The more challenging exit was fun, traversing the slab was definitely exposed but looks worse than it is. Really pretty canyon in the morning light.

Comment: Pretty canyon and was fun to take a total beginner down! Bunny was scared (and limbless) so we had to provide a top-belay (pictured) and a lot of help on downclimbs. The challenging exit wasn't too bad until ledge traverse which was exposed and sloping and a difficult spot to set up a handline. We decided not to do so and had to stem back down and take the easy exit.

Comment: Fun route right of the highway. Good spot to practice some stemming. The remnants of the car are pretty neat. Bonus points for the engine block anchor. We stuck the rope on the last rappel but the rap is such that it can be stemmed back up without much trouble. There were a couple of other tails hanging from previous parties that chose to cut rather than retrieve them.

Comment: We played around a lot in this canyon. Could very easily be done quicker than our 2hours. Practiced a lot of steaming and bridging on our way to the the first rap. On rap 2 there is a bolted anchor that can be easily missed upon first glance. Rap 3 can be a rope eater...ask us how we know :P . We were able to get ours back, but by the looks of it, others were not quite as successful.

This canyon was bone dry when we ran it, however, I am sure it would be quite different if there was water. Absolutely stunning views once out and starting the exit. Navigating the canyon and the rappels themselves were easy, but it was a very picturesque slot canyon. Worth it for a short and sweet canyon if you are in the area.
