Comments: A very fun intermediate canyon in Switzerland. This is a great canyon to use as training for the other bigger canyons (Pontirone, Iragna, Lodrino) and if anyone does not feel comfortable, there are plenty of escapes all throughout the canyon. The lower part of the canyon starts with some easy jumps, slides and rappels and has an escape option before the final short technical section. The final section had a jump, rappel and a slide before hiking out to the trail. For the jump, some canyoneers in a different group decided to do this as a slide but this adds risk as the slide requires you to push out to avoid a ledge that sticks out before the deep pool below. Our guide gave us a hand line to use before jumping into the pool below. Make sure you have a good wetsuit for this section. If you have a decent sized group you will be sitting in this pool for a good amount of time and if any in the group are very cold before entering it would be wise to hike down before entering the final technical section. We had 4/3s which were comfortable. For the final slide, our guide made sure to give us a push to gain momentum and avoid a ledge that would be unlikely to hit but without adequate speed could be hit and cause injury. Huge thanks to Fernando our guide from Swiss River Adventures for leading the group down this canyon. I highly recommend their company and guides for all the Ticino canyons in Switzerland.
