I was traveling in Huasteca Potesina and decided to post a public trip. David contacted me, kindly offering to host me.
A week later we met up in Tamazunchale and caught a colectivo to his pueblo 15mins away. I found it interesting making tortillas and listening to them speak Náhuatl. During the week I took David abseiling in the cañón Tlajkotepetl as well as a cliff opposite the village. Whilst friendly, David didn't speak English (Español y Náhuatl). This made communication difficult and at times a little frustrating as David was very busy with work and had lots of meetings. Nevertheless we went out to collect logs for some buildings on the playa and furnished the roofs with palms in perperation for three festival. I think it would have been more rewarding if I spoke better Spanish...
