Comments: After our misadventure on Barahuco, we were reluctant to do this canyon.... As it is closeby. Fortunately, another canyoneer highly recommended we not skip this canyon and we were all very glad we did not. This was one of my favorite canyons in the DR and extra flow truly made this one special. All of the guano pools were gone and the canyon was filled with crystal clear flowing water. This felt like a mini barahuco with more bats and less intensity - we loved it. I could see how it may be boring without flow.... With flowing water, it completely changed the nature of the canyon.

We entered the canyon from the sneak route and had a difficult time finding any sort of trail. Once we reached the entrance of the canyon after an hour of bushwhacking, we did find a trail but decided not to trace where it went. The current GPX tracks on the approach will take you to an obvious cliff, it looks like the trail can be found left of this cliff, but not entirely sure.

Comment: Hardly any waterflow but deep pools. Bolts were in reasonable condition - a few newer placements. Per locals, the canyon has become somewhat of a trade route in recent years. Encountered many lizards, a giant centipede, and a snake. 100s of bats in the depths of the slot and guano everywhere. Probably going to perish from some sort of respiratory disease but at least the canyon was pretty.

Comment: All anchors fine. Low flow, but flowing. We starting from the upper part of the ravine, well above the slot, for exploration. Nothing noteworthy above the slot. Locals friendly, no problems. Snake and lots of bats in the slot. Attached photo taken by Sarah Jorgenson.

Comment: Flow was nice, probably more fun if a bit higher. Anchors are strong, and are reportedly going to be replaced with better anchors within the next month. Lots of guano in the bat section. Two HUGE giant centipedes. Be careful! Locals friendly, no problems.
