Comments: Good easy fun. Constrichnine has some nice narrow sections with good lighting. We ran into a large college group and they were kind enough to let us play through. There is currently thigh deep water in spots. Some of this places can be stemmed over but we all got wet eventually (75 degrees weather made that comfortable). Lots of mud. There is potential to stick your rope on the rappel into the dark chamber. Make sure webbing is extended. The climber exit was pretty chill if you recreate in these parts frequently.

Comment: What an awesome little canyon. Had a ton of fun on this one, the anchors are starting to see some sun and had to replace one at the very beginning whose black webbing was almost white.

Comment: After watching the eclipse, we headed into the canyons and descended Slideanide and Constrychnine in Poison Springs. It was the most fun I’ve had in back-to-back canyons! Both canyons were spectacular, with unique rock formations, and dark narrows. The rappels in Constrychnine, including a 180+ foot rappel, were outstanding! The anchors were in good condition. We did three rappels and one optional rappel, which could have been downclimbed in hindsight. With a party of three, it took us 4 hours from car to car.

Comment: We did the full Slideanide Constrychnine Loop which was a very cool combo of canyons back to back! Super fun! Lots to see. We did only 1 rappel in Slideanide, the first one to get into the canyon everything else was down-climbable. Lots of anchors rigged for those uncomfortable but this canyon really lends it's self to downclimbing and stemming. Both canyons have super cool dark sections/rooms unique to each one. Both have incredible sculpting and beautiful sticky rock. Lots of cracks to stem over, chutes to elevator down and rooms to admire. Nothing too crazy tight, very enjoyable! We did 2 rappels in Constrychine, both were pretty fun, biggest being the 180. There was one very easily avoidable pool at the end. The un-named upclimb canyon is easy upclimb stemming and fairly short. There is some mild slabby 5th class at the end and also more super mild brief 5th class on the exit. Both canyons were super fun, definitely recommend this loop. We almost added Arsenic on to the end since you pass it on the exit, but everyone else was tired.

Comment: Group of 3. 6 hours, 30 mins car to car while doing a loop of Constrychnine and Slideanide Canyons. A few small wet spots but any water is avoidable.
The first anchor in the canyon is off uses a 30 foot-ish old rope tied to a tree AND also a carin anchor on webbing set back about 10 feet-ish. The rope is well used and stiff, but didn't present any sighn of immediate concern. The webbing is in good shape and the anchor is probably overbuilt. Some one overhanded a courtesy but is was causing the ring not to go over the edge so we removed it and did a dynamic courtesy for all but the last person. This was not as bad of a hard start as I thought it would be. All other anchors in the canyon we in good shape. There was a drop with a chockstone and a sling. The anchor is good, but it is a narrow, rappel. This allows you to chimney down before weighting the anchor, but the whole rap is a bit of a squeeze and some might even want to down climb shortly after getting below the chockstone. The small pool at the bottom of a short drop can be avoided with a bit of skill/swinging. We did the short-cut exit--which is now becoming the standard exit it seems. This had a little bit of awkward move in the V-channel up climb, but not too bad.
