Comment: Completed with an overnight at Phantom Ranch. 8 degrees leaving the snow-covered rim at 0400 and starting the descent down S Kaibab. Microspikes were useful. About 50 degrees at the head of Cremation. The canyon was dry with the exception of some shallow, avoidable pools. The Colorado was cold and those who wore wetsuits for the pack-raft were far more comfortable. Didn’t see a single other person until Boat Beach. Reached Phantom Ranch around 1700 (moving at a casual pace). Ascended via Bright Angel the following day.

Comment: A good overnight Grand Canyoneering intro canyon. Big raps back to back to back, some pretty Zoroaster/Vishnu striping, easy packrafting, and aside from the technical descent, no off trail hiking. We surprisingly got a permit for Bright Angel Campground so did 1 day down Cremation and floated to boat beach then hiked out BA the second day.
