Comments: Water levels were very low - 1.2m on Gauge (Buckland R at Harris Lane). First two (r2, r3) "semi-hanging" anchors are warm and in the sun. R4 is very very wet (hood recommend), in the flow levels we had and probably in higher flows it'd possibly be better to skip r4 (we did this on a previous trip were it hadn't been established yet). Pull down on r3 we did from end of R4 for the better angle as we had long ropes

Only wades at these water levels, although it's normally higher. Walk out track has been bolted since we last did it and has pretty good protection if you're wearing a harness, although there are some fairly exposed areas.

Trip time was 4 hours 50 minutes.

Comment: An epic day! We started quite late, just after 10am as it was 3 degrees at sunrise. The flow was quite low ~1.26m.

Crystal Brook requires great teamwork to be efficient on the small ledges and cold flow. Take wetsuit hoods!

Comment: Party of 7. All very experienced and advanced canyoners with swift water training.

Great conditions. Did R3 and R4 as one long 80m drop.

Can't recall what the Buckland River gauge was reporting at the time and I can't find historical data. Was 1.49m on 29/12/2021 when we did Twin and Triplets
