Comments: Beta doesn't accurately represent the challeneges we faced. Lots of trchnical downclimbs (with backpacking bags) waist deep wades, and technical anchor rigging. First rap anchor offf the chokstone was dry rotted and flashed over. Set a rap 2 pull 1 anchor off a tree 15 feet up LDC. After, we used a meat anchor for first downclimb as it was slick with a rocky landing. Third "down climb" I used webbing off a small chokstone and extended webbing to the crack in the lip. We all locked off then downlclimbed to weight the anchor then rapped. There is a sketchy handline in place that is very core shot. We decided against because of this and the quicksand below. Theres a lot of technical downclimbs and slotted sections in bewtween the first "2" raps (10ft +50ft to the 2 bolted one). Went off the rap ring off single bolt due to lack of time and quality of webbing. After there was a technical class x stemming section that was very difficult with backpacking packs. After drops into stomach deep water then the canyon opens up for mile until the last rap. Camped in the long open canyon section. Next morning alsmot stuck a rope on last rap because of friction. Would reccomend a toggle for retrieval. Overall very fun canyon, wish i knew the correct beta beforehand.

Comment: 3 days car to car w/Stone Donkey from Rock Springs Bench. This entry point required high clearance 4x4 but made relatively easy approach to both Deer Creek and Stone Donkey. Please note you must find old CCC trail down to Paria to access Deer Creek. Its a great trail but very overgrown

Comment: Day one descended Deer Creek to camp roughly .7 mile before the confluence with the Paria River in 9 hours - new anchors, only one tiny spot of unavoidable water, shin deep. Day two hiked out in about 4 hours. A bit on the hot side, but juniper trees offered some shade on the return hike.
