Comment: Descended Eastern Sun then up Virgin River and set up tent at bottom of Mighty Mouse and ran through that in evening. Next morning did Deadeye Dick. Built a few anchors as all three canyons seemed to have less traffic than I would have thought. Great overnight backpack trip with solitude and nice fall colors. Pretty cold at night. Wear pants.

Comment: Eastern Sun is completely dry as on this date, anchors are in good condition as well. Plenty of cairn anchors, with alternative options aplenty. The canyon is surprisingly fun and beautiful, similar to Englestead/Birch, but wilder. I noticed some bolt holes with the bolt sleeve still inside at the last or second to last rap, but the bolts themselves have been removed. Packing in some light tan-colored epoxy patch to clean up the empty holes would be a nice touch. I did not remove these bolts but please don't add bolts they are entirely unneeded. A toggle device is a nice tool to have in Eastern Sun. I did the Dead Eye Dick "one car" approach and crossed over the ridge to Eastern Sun (as per canyoneeringUSA.com), not too big a deal, with minimal bushwackery. I would consider this approach a very worthy alternative to the shuttle method.
