Comments: I enjoyed this canyon a lot, but I have a soft spot for sand trapping. The trap placements were easy and pulls were fine. We rigged the final, 160' rappel from the lower sand trap placement (against the pothole lip). This was very secure. Used a 3:1 to retrieve it! There are plenty of boulders after the rappel to serve as ground anchors in case this is needed. The stemming is not as physical (or interesting) as other canyons nearby.

Comment: Gorgeous canyon with lots of fun challenges throughout! One of our team members was new to this type of canyoneering with stemming and challenging downclimbs. He is 230lbs and barrel chested. We spent time teaching and taking it slow. He did very well. There is only 1 tight spot that is a 30’ elevator downclimb and he fit fine. There were 2 major pothole escapes. One we used a potshot to escape, the other is halfway down the final 200’ drop (pictured below). I was able to climb out under my own steam and set a rope to help others at the mid point on this 2 stage rappel. Option to break up this drop to a 50’ and 150’ using a sand trap up top and water anchor for the 2nd portion. Our sand trap pulled fine though. 4/3 wetsuits comfy. So much beauty throughout canyon and so much fun definitely must do!

Comment: Unexpected gem of a canyon. Tight narrows and several elevator up/downclimbs. Largish packs slowed us down a bit in a couple of spots. Dry throughout with a couple of easy pothole escapes. Used a sandtrap for both rappels. A 160' rope and pull cord were sufficient. Straightforward exit. Definitely worth another visit.
