Comments: Family camp has had some sand move around. Many of the potholes are now full of sand, only one may benefit from a partner assist at this time. Overall a nice day out as per-usual for the area.

Comment: A real gem! Some of the prettiest slot in zion with a plethora of memorable features throughout!
Approach is long, a few tiring sections of uphill sand, wasn’t terrible. Technical has tons of advanced downclimb sections. Plenty of keeperish potholes, none requiring gear, just effort. A total romp! Fun factor was super high!Water no deeper than waist. 4/3 wetsuits were perfect. The rock shapes and sculpting were pretty wild through here. We brought two 50’ ropes to fix in the last narrows so we could visit the edge. The 2nd one was more of a handline helpful for the climb out. We spent 3 hours at the edge before heading back. The view here is incredible!! Once we ascended out and reached the confluence with the exit drainage, it took us 2hrs to hike out at a somewhat brisk pace. Was nice to start late in the day. Total distance traveled: 8.9miles. I look forward to returning to this one!! | |||||||

Comment: An awesome canyon that feels similar in nature to many Escalante canyons (specifically the views of the Neon approach with the stemming and movement of some of the Egypts).
We spent 3 hours on the approach + technical and 2.5 hours on the exit. Likely the exit could have been faster with better routing but it is likely to always be a bit of a slog. Total time does not include a nap at the end as well as rapping beyond the exit all the way down to the headwall and ascending back out. If doing this you likely want a 70 ft, 90 ft, and another rope to set for the exit. We upclimbed everything except the 70ft with great difficulty. This should be reserved for groups with strong stemming and no fear of exposure. We ended up downclimbing all of the canyon as described by Tom and didn't use a rope. Most parties will want a rope.

Comment: Stuck a rope twice due to some experimental anchoring techniques. Great canyon as always. Really fun time.
