Comments: Fire Canyon, like all Capitol Reef canyons, has amazing scenery with crazy geologic formations throughout. We chose the big headwall entrance rappel, there are are other, shorter options available. All anchors were in great shape, we did not even crack a new quick link. There was plenty of water in the tight dark section.

Comment: This is an exceptionally beautiful canyon that feels very remote and wild. We removed a lot of tat/trash but only had to replace the webbing on the first anchor. Note that we used a fiddlestick on the first rappel, so we didn't need to extend the webbing from that first anchor. If you don't plan to bring a fiddlestick, then I'd recommend bringing a lot of extra webbing to extend at least that first anchor. Raps 2-5 all have fairly awkward starts. There was almost no water in the canyon when we were there; we didn't get our feet wet at all. Just a little muddy. Accessing the anchor at the last rap requires a very exposed-feeling downclimb, so be prepared for that.

Comment: Great canyon as always. We added webbing for the first anchor and used a toggle with a couple others. Knee-deep water in the lower part of the canyon, waist deep water in the exit pool. Combined with Cassidy for a very fun long day.

Comment: Beautiful canyon, scenic and somewhat wild feeling. There are some interesting mini slots upcanyon from the drop-in point that are worth exploring. The four standard rappels had anchors in good condition, with relatively fresh webbing. The two downclimbs (which we rappelled for safety) also had webbing slung from chockstones. There was ankle deep water in the lower part of the canyon, and the exit pool was waist deep. We hiked from the Cassidy TH and included Cassidy Arch Canyon at the end of our day.
