Comments: The beta provided by the author is excellent. We had absolutely no issues finding this route, and the locals are very welcoming. As stated in the description, the approach trail is fantastic and very easy to follow. We went in the rainy season and it was very muddy which did make the going a bit slow, but all the mud washed off very easily once in the canyon! We found all anchors in excellent condition, even almost a year after the last run. As stated before, beta is top notch and we had no issues locating anchors. The flow in early December is very high and not appropriate for beginners. I recommend significant swift water experience during this time of year as the high flow creates associated challenges. I attached two photos of the big rappel. Check out the rooster tail- WOWZA! The flow was so intense on that rappel that I got a serious arm workout shoving the rope through my device just trying to get DOWN! We had an amazing time exploring this canyon and unfortunately didn't have time to explore any others in the area but they are plentiful, and the villagers are willing to show you! This is definitely an untapped area that I hope continues to pop up as a canyoneering destination. Tips: The exit after the last rappel took a bit longer than we expected and we started to second guess whether we missed the exit trail, but when we came around a corner it was easy to see. If you did happen to miss it, you should just keep following the river because it does eventually run under the bridge where you parked. Also, the access roads are normal Jamaica roads - potholes but can be navigated by any vehicle. We were stuck in a RWD low clearance rental and it was no issue.
