Comment: R3b (coming out of the culvert) is very spicy at this flow, honestly safer to downclimb behind the branchy cluster dcl before getting on rappel (take the rope with you, possibly even route around the cluster as a redirect) than trying to skirt in between the cluster and the torrent.

R4b (bolts dcr) be mindful of the log halfway down the pitch in the middle the watercourse, stay dcl of it but don’t step between it and the rock, some chance of entrapment

Skip the last drop, don’t even look, the sight of all those tires robs some of the magic of such a banger canyon. We took track of approach and exit, a map will be submitted.

Otherwise the pitch lengths given in the beta are all longer than they are in actuality, but considering all the two pitch drops this is for the best. Get in there while it’s still flowing with spice, snow in the upper catchment won’t last long.

Also, although I’m newer at canyoning and respect the work put in by the first descent team, in no world is this a class B slash A2 canyon. It’s best run in the off and early season. Off/early season flows can be expected to be A3 at a minimum. French V4 seems appropriate, whether it deserves an ACA technical rating of 4 is iffy, since reaching the rebelay stations (2b/3b/4b) from their respective 1st pitch anchors (2a/3a/4a) isn’t complicated, even in high flow. I’m open to a counter take and being corrected on it.

Comment: We only ran the lower section and spent much time at the bottom of R3 assisting with something unrelated. The retaining wall anchor was very loose and had to be tightened; all others were good. Unfortunately, the trash is starting to smell and is quite noticeable without higher waterflow flushing it out. The Rock Creek of the Gifford. :(

Comment: Much different canyon when not frozen! Great flow right now…R2 has a rooster tail at the top in current flows. Exciting Raps all the way down. All anchors were is good working order…there is a fallen tree across R3 just before the water goes over the edge which is kind of a nuisance. If your in need of a spare tire there are about 50 at the bottom of the last rap. Pretty terrible. Beautiful canyon though!

Comment: Having such a short approach and exit makes this a wonderful winter canyon. We couldn't find anchors at R1 or R4/P2 (lots of snow/ice) so we rigged retrievable. The ice and snow made the approach, exit, and climb up to R4 more difficult but made for a fun and character building experience. Would highly recommend!

Comment: Fun creek! Rocks and trees covered with thick layer of ice made approaches to anchors and descents challenging.

Comment: An amazing winter canyon! Roadside, low elevation, easy approach/exit and with two big, fun waterfalls with great flow and rebelays giving fantastic lines through the flow. We were joking that this is 3 stars in summer and 5 stars in winter, and it's really true. Approach took us 25 minutes with minor routefinding and exit took us 15 minutes. A very enjoyable day!
