Comments: First time to Goblin Valley State Park. Cool scenery and setting. Getting into the top portion of the lair section took some minor routefinding, but nothing crazy.
Rappel is in good shape, a boulder wrapped with yellow cord, doubled and redundant, with a thick metal link. There is also a mat/carpet on the lip of the rappel to prevent rope drag and additional damage to the rock, very convenient. Be cautious of rope-toss - there may be hikers and unaware tourists in the chamber below, probably a good idea to just rappel with rope stacked on you.
Entrance to park is currently $20 for a car, and $4 per person for a backcountry (rappel) permit. Check with visitor center for details.

Comment: Had a fantastic time, perfect canyon for beginners. It had a rained a few days before, so I got very muddy doing the optional tunnel crawl.
