Comments: Nice canyon but the long approach and exit takes away from its fun. We hiked up the ridge between the wash and the canyon and it was pretty easy. It puts you in after the first rappel. I did enjoy the fast pace of the rappels and many of them where very pretty. We did replace the webbing on several of the rappels with old, crusty, and faded webbing. Overall I dont know if it would do it again but did have a good time on it.

Comment: A decent, worthwhile route, if in the area.

River crossing was for the most part knee deep. I wore a drysuit just because, and stashed it on the other side.

The approach starts up a very long rocky wash that seems to last forever. After an hour of rock hopping we got to the turn off and started to ascend the adjacent drainage. There were a few dryfalls to scramble up that were enjoyable but the final push was a slog with loose soil/rock in full sun. Would be terrible in the summer!

Canyon is mostly wide, and starts with a few downclimbs before the first rappel. All drops are anchored by natural arches, rock cairns, or knot chocks.

Some of the drops were fairly enjoyable going down short sculpted flutes of limestone. One of the larger ones had a neat little free hang. Canyon drops quickly and descent is fairly short. Some nice views throughout.

The canyon profile is similar to some of the routes in the Black Canyon Range near Lake Mead. No water in canyon.

All anchors are in good condition.

Before we knew it we were back in the wash and after another hour of annoying sandy wash rock hopping, we arrived at the river.

Overall, a decent route but a one and done for me.
