Comments: Used a new shortcut approach from the bottom to drop in right above a good rap and the awesome slide. Took the approach very slowly due to injuries, overheating exhaustion, and some route-finding. We set a handline from knot-chocked webbing to climb up DCL and run laps on the awesome slide. Rest of the canyon went fairly smoothly.

Comment: We took the short approach, dropping in at 4650'. There wasn't a slide, so maybe going all the way to 4700' is necessary. Most raps had webbing ready. Doing the short approach so you have to run Lewis or Tenmile seems like the best use of a day.

Comment: I didn’t have the beta for the shortcut approach so we opted to do the full approach. I don’t recommend the canyon if you do the full approach and can see the canyon being worth it if you go Rick’s way. By the time we got to the good section we were over the canyon and just wanted to get out. I remember seeing the piece of black webbing on a chock rock but didn’t make the connection that it was for the slide. We ended up rappelling down halfway and then sliding the rest. Sucks we missed out on a good slide. The final rap sequence is awesome and can be easily done from the bottom up in about two hours. I think if we hadn’t done the full approach my opinion of this canyon would have been better. If you don’t know the beta for the shorter approach just hike up the side of the first waterfall and do the last 3 raps and save yourself 9 hours of pain. By doing the full canyon we did do a couple of decent raps and a couple good water slides but the amount of bush wacking in addition to the slippery conditions of the rock make this canyon a chore. It also killed my groups motivation to descend ten mile the following day.

Comment: First descent, or so we thought until we found an anchor near the bottom of the canyon.

Several good slides, but many potholes were too shallow to jump. Rough Fire burn followed by a heavy-precipitation winter likely filled in a lot of potholes. Stuck a rope on Grizzly Falls (last rap) by pulling the biner block into a crack. Went back to recover rope the following morning.
