Comments: Great little warm-up canyon. We ended up walking along the side of the river to the bridge instead of swimming across since it had rained heavily the night before and the flow was much higher than the day before (when we scouted it).

Comment: Started at the Armstrong Campground & thrashed up to the old road and across to suit up just before the drop into Helion. The beta is correct in that the upper drainage is a rainforest with some thrashing required even if staying the creek. It gets better as you descend. Excellent falls, all anchors in good shape. We cleaned a lot of older anchors and probably took 50ft of webbing out of the creek. Reaching the bottom we swam the river (ferry angle is your friend) and thrashed up to the road on the far side for an easy walk out. Seems Helion is best done when you can swim the river. Thrashing out along the shore looks like a pain and probably would have taken us another hour or so. More time for festive beverages at Fearless Brewing.
