Comments: What an amazing canyon!
Water level: Deepest was chest level. Some other unavoidable parts were shin- to waist-deep.
Wetsuit: One person had a well-fitting 4/3 and didn't complain about being cold. Another who normally runs chillier wore two layers of 3-4mm and was cold until putting on a rain jacket over everything. I was in a 7mm and got a little cold in the parts when it started drying up. Air temperature at the trailhead was in the high 40s/low 50s.
Difficulty: Fairly straightforward potshots and sandtraps. Quite a few areas that we sandtrapped ended up being downclimbable with a catch. If done again, I would first meat back-up someone to scope it out for a downclimb to make it more time-efficient. The final rap is off of small vegetation; we fiddled it and looked for ways to increase rope friction over the rock.

Comment: Super fun canyon! The potholes are only partially full of water (usually waist deep or less). We used potshots to surmount the bigger potholes and partner assists, pack tosses for others. We used a sandtrap quite a bit in canyon and also the smooth operator. Currently it is possible to ghost the whole canyon and we didn't find any webbing. 3/2 wetsuit was good, air temp mid 80s.

Comment: Great canyon, potholes are in keeper condition. Partner assists and anchor building skills needed.

Comment: Great canyon! Good for lower temp B class canyons - full sun almost the whole way. Exceptional pay to play ratio |
