Comment: All anchors looked ok, some are starting to fade. Definitely worth a visit. Downclimbers will enjoy bypassing some rappels.

Comment: Steep approach. There are a lot of social trails in some spots so having the map from sedonacanyoneering.com was helpful in knowing which way to take at all the forks. The webbing on the tree RDC rap 1 is pretty old but someone set up a new one off of some rock pinches in the watercourse so we took that instead. Webbing on rap 2 was old so we just down climbed. Webbing on rap 3 was old so we cut it out and replaced it and webbing on rap 4 was not as bad since it’s in the shade more but might need to be replaced soon. Lots of fleas and flies but also cute frogs. The raps are nothing amazing but great for beginners and it’s a pretty canyon.

Comment: Fantastic canyon. Bit of a hike to get up to the mesa but nothing crazy. Watch out for the petroglyphs and grinding bowls on the left coming up on the first rappell. Truely amazing stuff. All anchors were in good condition and we down climbed two of the rappells as we were in a daylight time crunch. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Comment: The hike up to the mesa gets very steep at the end. The descent is really easy and all our kids did well with it. Just one short overhanging spot on rap 1, but no tricky spots. We bypassed rap 2 because that pinch point looked so dang small (I know, I know, I'm sure it's super good enough, but I just didn't have the warm and fuzzies). The downclimb can be bypassed RDC, and that's what we did. Although not a particularly remarkable canyon, it had some pretty features.

Comment: Taking it easy to manage the heat. Straightforward approach to watercourse. Replaced webbing on R1 and R2 as was looking pretty sundamaged. Moved R3 anchor from RDC chute to pinch point in center watercourse as there was a very angry ant colony on the previous bush anchor. This routing should be better for folks not comfy down climbing the chute. Trimmed out frayed spot on R4 webbing and tied it back as webbing was still in decent shape. Shallow pool here, avoided by staying left on rappel and skirting pool. Fun solo adventure despite high temperatures.

Comment: Route can be done as a series of downclimbs.
R1 and R3 looked good. R2 corridor is an easy downclimb but we left the anchor. Rigging the anchor at its new location seemed more risky and exposed than the easy downclimb. good run with M.Skeer.

Comment: Quick sunset run. Some shallow, avoidable pools from recent rains. Cleared some more loose rock and debris near R1. Moved R3 anchor RDC off bush. From the bottom we noticed this narrow section could also be a fun downclimb. Downclimbed R4. R5 webbing has some minor fraying - it was safe, but keep an eye on it. Took the exit by the road this time which was super mellow and went quick.

Comment: Rock art located LDC just before r1 and in main watercourse.
Alien man picto is on 1st ledge of r1 by pothole, very neat. All anchors in good shape. Found it quickest to cut over from base of r5 to social trail and back to car. A great adventure for those new to canyons. One of the better short routes in sedona.

A really fun canyon off of horse mesa.
