Comments: Took a big group of beginners through Kitchen Creek. Bone dry canyon, mostly moss. Anchors at R1 and R2 are showing age, anchor at R3 is old purple 5/8(?) and needs replacing. A 213ft rope is just right for R1. R3 was skipped by all except LAMAR in favor of efficiency using ~270ft of rope. This should not be done in high flow, use the anchor. May use it as a rebelay for future practices. Developing this into a practice route. I have not found R4 yet, but I haven’t found a place where another rap looks like it would be fun yet

Comment: Took a couple small groups through and located all of the anchors. All anchors are DCL.. Replaced webbing on R1 and R2. R3 and R4 are in decent condition, but still need replacing. I’ll be back to continue to develop and document the route. Great place to introduce people to Class C techniques in a low-angle, low water level, setting.

Special challenges: aggressive nudist. Not kidding

Comment: Found two sunbleached anchors out of four, and didn't bother setting any rappels. Will be back to replace webbing and document anchor locations. Interesting canyon, there's some good flow and exciting lines in there, but they can also be completely downclimbed around. Great place for a picnic above R1

Comment: Great intro canyon for those learning class c techniques. All drops are bypassable. The bolts are kind of difficult to kind unless you go with someone who knows the canyon or you're patient :) Water was surprisingly frigid. Water flow considered moderate high. We avoided one rappel (with the pothole) because water flow looked dangerous and had beginners.
