Comments: 1 thing noteworthy was at the 12 foot ramp at the entrance to the narrows: A large rock (larger than a football) came off from below a tree on canyon wall DCR and crashed directly into and thru the line of the next rappel. We had already down climbed DCR of the ramp. The rock came from much higher above after our down climb. Maybe we loosened something just enough to cause it? But to our inspection it didn't seem that we had.
When making that down climb take extra care AND when attempting to rappel out of the flow on that ledge DCR take extra extra care. That columnar basalt, especially in this canyon is wanting to come down.

Comment: Great run! Definitely could be rated much higher with the scenery in this canyon. Lush greens, bright red rocks, interesting rock formations, 1 beautiful rap and a very nice narrows section! Totally worth the trip, not sure why this place gets no love. It was relatively easy but its beauty is the draw here, not the challenge of how technical it is. I posted a vid for anyone interested is seeing what it looks like before making the trip out. there is a large boulder above the R2, to rap in the flow, a set of linked bolts would be really nice!?

Comment: Creek was running surprisingly high for mid-late August. Number of hydraulics were present, so we did most rappels out of the flow. Nice waterfalls and interesting rock formations -- but it's a long dull slog of rock-hopping between the upper falls and the bottom narrows. Had a somewhat low opinion of the creek until reaching the bottom section which is worth the price of admission. All drops in the narrows are less than vertical. Bushwhacked directly up the steep, yet mostly open forest slopes just downstream DCR of the confluence. Found a cave on the way out; there were bear footprints on the floor.
