Comments: Paddled across Lake Powell to check out this canyon; water levels on paper appear to be similar to the trip reported, but in reality they must have been higher. We paddled over to check out the "exit" and ended up paddling the lower 1/3 of the route; the water was deep enough you would have needed to swim most of it. Where it became shallow in the narrows, it was chocked with partially decayed debris and vegetation, and smelly ankle deep black mud that would rip your shoes off. We opted against doing the descent. It was a nice paddle though.

Comment: I completed descents of both Lone Rock Canyon and Break Hollow in about 9 hours to then camp on the lake at the site in the main arm of Lone Rock canyon (which was nice and quiet on my visit, and you can't even see all the lights from the campers on Lone Rock Beach) before paddling back to the beach in the morning. These are nice, interesting canyons in a great setting without an overwhelming number of lake miles, a bit of a rarity for Lake Powell canyons.
