Comment: Webbing good, downclimb can be avoided through brush just shy of climb on kml, not sure why this is not mentoioned in beta, there is even an faint use route. Final rappel and hang spot are nice and worthwile.

Comment: Thick sheets of snow and ice made the route more challenging. Anchors looked good. We accessed the route by going down the center of the alcove. R4 was difficult to rig off existing anchors due to exposure and snow so we fiddled off the same tree but placed it higher up. Large icicles were crashing and the approach was more challenging than normal.

Comment: Love this one, straight forward approach. We never found the down climb, but had no problem dropping in.
The last rap is awesome, it's prefect for going fast.

Comment: Downclimb entry was fun and dry (knee pads were nice).
Fun start and great finish rapp with a cool hidden slot LDC in the middle. maybe not the best introduction to sedona, but definitely worth checking out for intermediate canyoneers craving a less traveled but fun route. R1 Anchor may need adjusting or backed up. it was low to the ground making the start awkward for the newer member in the group. We moved it up. But this should be adjusted as the small pine had some bend to it. We backed this up with a meat anchor, but other options should be considered or go back to the low setting on the tree.

Comment: Went for manzanita today with snow and icy conditions. Bailed via slingshot and it was a good idea. The downclimb entrance is difficult with snow and ice and the alternatives were icy and brushy.. A cleaner entrance to this route would put it in the 4 star range, but with current conditions this was type 2 fun. neighboring routes likenslingshot and ponderosa are higher quality for the effort.

Comment: Time is car-to-car for Manzanita and Ponderosa combo and includes lots of route maintenance. Many will want a meat anchor or handline for the access chimney/crack, though strong climbers will not have a problem, There’s a solid spot above the chimney for a meat anchor to dig in. I gave the two others in my party a belay from this position. Relocated R2 closer to the watercourse for a more free-hanging line. The narrow slot ldc between R5 and R6 is very unique for the area! Replaced R6 webbing and removed quite a bit of brush throughout the route.

Comment: A worthwhile option. A bit brushy in spots. Taking time to find a clean entrance LDC is ideal. Canyon opens up and gets better.
All anchors looked great. Fun downclimbs and good rappels, Very scenic. with a few surprises along the way.
Time includes working on chopper drop and scouting along the way.

Comment: fun trip through boynton. its always a good time not knowing what you're getting into, the first few raps were alright but the last one was really cool. 4 stars for the setting and the last rap.
