Comments: Rather a complex data point as condition reports go - the upper half of this trip was a side drainage of Martinez that turned out to have four rappels (to 120' or so, plus several downclimbs) of its own. I joined Martinez proper about a half mile above R5, and rebuilt anchors/replaced all webbing at R5-R9. I recommend this lower section highly in terms of size and quality of rappels, and will likely return and sneak it in spring when there's a bit more waterflow.
At 90 degrees and sunny, the weather was too hot to be truly enjoyable. Saw (and heard!) one good-sized rattlesnake on the approach. Upon finding a chest-deep pool in lower Guadalupe - which is still flowing to the last rap - I frolicked shamelessly with some tadpoles.
