Comments: Nice little photogenic canyon, would be a favorite if access were easier. Between the drive and the relatively long (although enjoyable) approach, it might not be one we visit regularly. As others noted, all drops are bolted for guiding, including ones that are downclimbs for a normal canyoneering party. Three likely qualify as actual rappels. There was no water in the canyon and all anchors were properly rigged.

Comment: Nice, easy little route. Most of the dirt road is the kind of dry, gently curving sandy stuff that was actually fun to drive a decent speed. It’s the last few miles that demand high clearance and a slower pace. No wonder it’s popular with the OHV crowd.
I agree, only 3 necessary raps, with another 5 bolted drops that most canyoneers will downclimb. Anchors are well placed and maintained, and with thoughtful pull angles, won’t groove the rock. I removed a weird bit of web that was tied to a very mobile small log, right next to a double bolt anchor. Never super deep or stunning, but certainly pleasant, including the riparian bit. Outhike slabs not bad at all. I’ll call em class 3.5.

Comment: The technical section was very short but quite scenic. All drops were bolted and webbing was in good enough shape. No water but a tiny bit of mud. Did a couple raps and a couple downclimbs. The longer rap was the highlight of the canyon. Hike in took us 30 minutes. Technical section took about 40 minutes. Hike out was around 50 minutes. I was happy to finally check this one off the list but it is likely a one and done for me since most of the day is spent driving and hiking. Road was easy in my tacoma 4x4. There is a steep hill about 100 feet before the wash/trailhead. We just parked at the pullout instead of going down the hill since it might be tricky to get back up. If access was easy or the technical section was twice as long this would be an awesome beginner friendly outing.

Comment: We went there after heavy rain. Canyon was full of waist deep water and ice skating-quicksand mud. This one is really good. The offroad drive is long but the approach is in the canyon itself .

Comment: Very pretty canyon, it’s a shame that someone put in so many unnecessary bolts. Downclimbed all but two of the raps. Longest rappel was ~30ft
