Comment: While not a lot of bang for your buck as far as raps are concerned it's a pretty area and has some nice rabbit holes. A good winter option to take a beginner with no wetsuit required. Glad we made the trip out from Tucson.

We walked the road out but there were lots of cars along the whole length of the exit, the road is now open past fish creek vista. Unfortunately this means no solitude in the creek.

Comment: Lots of fun down climbing, primarily in the route finding. Fall colors in fish creek. Bushwhacking was thorny but easy enough to avoid most of it all. We did the canyon around 9am and I wish I hadn't brought my jacket for the bushwhacking. Road hiking in and out. Some people were shooting on the approach into zig zag nearby. Did the 140' rap and never saw water. Pools of clear creek water in fish creek was beautiful. Only did the one rappel.

Comment: Easy to avoid the pool by climbing over the arch while on rope for R2. Lots of fun downclimbing. Temps were perfect.

Comment: We thoroughly enjoyed this route. Although there were only a few raps, they were unique and fun. The best part of this route was the approach. It was beautiful, engaging, and right up our alley. We could have spent hours in that outdoor play ground! We stopped for a while to do some fun boulder problems and to explore the various tunnels / down climbs. The bouldering has some serious potential and we found ourselves wishing we had a crash pad. I definitely recommend this route if you are in the area. We drove down from northern AZ on Sunday, did this route and spent the night camping near the trail head. We did Sierra the next day before heading back home. It was a great trip with great people!

Comment: Had a good time on this one. Would be fun with more rappels but we enjoy splitting up the one and going through the rabbit hole, then over the arch. Stopped for a bouldering session in one of the many caves.

Comment: Tons of fun downclimbing and crawling through tunnels. We did the two-stage through the rabbit-hole and then the 80 footer. One of us went through the arch and got wet, the other climbed over the arch and rapped down the other side, avoiding the water. There is a nice flat area from which to climb over the arch, it's really easier than it looks from the anchor station. Hangers were spinning on R2 but the bolts seemed solid so we went for it. Webbing at both stations was starting to get a bit crispy but should still last a while. A beautiful area!

Comment: Fun downclimbing problems before the main rap/rap sequence. Took the short R1 option RDC through a hole in the boulders. Very cool rappel. Went over the R2 arch to bypass pool. Pool below only looked about knee deep. Some standing water throughout from yesterday’s rain and minor trickle in areas. Very little water flowing through Fish Creek, stayed completely dry. Encountered one other party of three in canyon. All webbing in great shape. Ref. third photo for rockfall blocking the road.

Comment: Took R1 bolts DCR. R2 off of bolts go into chest deep pool if rappelling through arch. Pool can be avoided by rappelling over arch instead of through, requires a little bit of climbing while on rope. Hangers on R2 could move, but bolts were solid. No required water crossings in Fish Creek.
