Comment: Wife and I took some of her family through this canyon, 10 of us in total, youngest being 7 years old. It was her first time in a canyon, and after conquering her fear at the first rappel she handled the remaining three with ease.
Having just been through this canyon 9 days prior, I noticed that the first three rap anchors had been replaced, even though 9 days earlier they were in excellent condition, basically brand new. This time all three anchors were less ideal than they were previously, and the rap 3 anchor had been moved to the base of the tree and the webbing had barely 1 finger width of tail in the knot! The ring used was also of a larger than normal diameter, and a portion of a butterfly knot could pass through the ring, requiring the use of another style of knot block. If you are going to relace otherwise perfect anchors, please try to match their quality, at least. I retied rap 3 anchor so it had a hands width of tail on each end and moved it back up the trunk of the tree (~6 above grade) for an easier pull. I have led a 350 lb. guy through this canyon who rapped off of that tree at that height and it was fine, no need to have the webbing at grade. Rap 4 anchor (a more complex piece of webbing for sure) was unchanged, despite it definitely showing some age and being in the center of a sometimes flowing water course. The disconnect between replacing the first three anchors, but leaving the fourth was surprising. Other than that, another great descent through Miyagi!

Comment: Wife and I love to do Miyagi when we are on a tight schedule, or when we want to take beginners on an easy canyon. This is our 8th or 9th time through. Approach is very easy, exit is easy as well, though expect to deal with branches and high grass back to car.
First 3 raps had new webbing and rap rings, final anchor was older, but perfectly fine, webbing and QL. We used Rap 3 to practice from-grade rope ascension, mid-rap rope ascension, and rescue scenario practice due to its forgiving slope. Great canyon that I will likely do many more times in the future.

Comment: Anchors looked good. Fat rap rings were added. Removed some extra webbing. Great route for teaching basics like firemans belay to a newcomer.

Comment: Took two brand newbs, one who was afraid of heights. They both did great. We bumped r1 up higher in the tree to make the dismount and retrieval easy and smoothe. R3 can be downclimbed on the right side if desired. Cleaned up some anchors.

Comment: Canyon is great. I took a couple of friends new to canyoneering. Great beginner canyon. All anchors were in good shape. Two options to rappel on rap 2, from tree set back or tree LDC at the edge. Anchor on Rap 4 has been replaced on bolts and is in good shape.

Comment: Took my friend on his first canyon, lots of learning!
R1 I added a quicklink R2 I built the anchor and supplied quicklink, only had my 10 mm left so it’s a big quicklink R3 debated whether the anchor should be lower on tree R4 was gone, only bolts, I didn’t have more quick links and didn’t have enough webbing left. Used my quad let my buddy rap and I hiked around, bring webbing. Odd, this easy route is almost always in good condition w good rap stations.

Comment: Another best day ever in a beautiful Sedona canyon. Team of 4, advanced, intermediate, 5yr, 8yr, and 10yr. First down climb easy drop in for the kids we decided to have them rap down. Every other downclimb we let them practice their downclimbing skills which are important but wanted on the first one to practice rappelling before the first rap. Kids have had proper training before hand and done canyons but right before rap one is always a good idea in a controlled setting. Kids easily rappelled all raps. They loved the slight differences of each which also helps them become better canyoneers. Day was cloudy and perfect temp. So much energy with the little ones that they did the approach in 35 mins. Descent in 2hr 45 mins. Exit 40 mins. Total time 4hrs. Took an extra hour have three kids with us compared to last time in Miyagi. We also took our time to have them pull the rope and be active participants. What an amazing canyon for young canyoneers. Last rap, webbing in watercourse and 100% sun exposed. Descent was easily done for all ages in our group with minimal to hardly any assistance. Exit has plenty of cacti and thorny plants to navigate which slowed us down with kids. Overall, one an amazing canyon!

Comment: Not just a great canyon for beginners, it's also a great canyon for those of us recovering from injuries who are going crazy being cooped up inside. Monday's run was my first time out in 2mo after a foot injury and this canyon was PERFECT for my reintroduction to the outside world.
This is a very short, but very pretty route and the approach is very easy and straight forward. I can't recommend this enough if you're bringing new folks into the sport, or if you're looking for an easy approach, and relatively easy route with almost no downclimbing/scrambling. All anchors were looking good. No webbing was replaced as all was still in good condition. Sometime soon those poorly placed bolts on R4 may end up wandering out of the water course to a better locale.

Comment: All 4 raps still had anchors set up with good webbing and either a quick link or rap ring. There was a trickle of water on the last rap which made it slippery and a couple pools of water that were about calf deep that you had to maneuver around in the canyon when walking in the narrower section between raps 3 and 4 but nothing crazy.

Comment: Replaced a missing anchor on r1. Moved r3 back to the original location. The tree next to the edge is surrounded by agave and exposed so it seemed better set back in the bigger tree.
