Comments: There was more water then we expected. The first two pools were low, so we hope the rest was dry, but we were wrong. Three pools were chest to waste deep.

Comment: The anchor for rap 1 is a bridge cairn (aka inspectable cairn). The main rock we rotated so that the flat side, rather than the angled side was braced against the support rocks. The webbing is good and is set up as a courtesy anchor. The other anchors were in good shape but I don't recall anything memorable about thier condition.

There is some water in the canyon that can be avoided, but later there is a pool which is currently shin-deep that cannot be avoided. This canyon could hold more water so keep that in mind.

Comment: Great approach and really nice canyon. All anchors were in reasonable shape, with one or two strands of webbing probably nearing end of life but not there yet. The canyon is currently really wet, with several deep swimmer pools that were more refreshing than cold since the canyon does get a bit of sun.

Comment: What a great canyon for a warm Sunday. No water, not even a little mud. Shade at least half the time. All anchors in great shape. The first anchor, a large rock pile, has been modified since the last time I was in there to a more modest, well done Death valley like rock pile with a webbing connection that can easily be examined and replaced if need be. Nice job on that one whoever set that up.

We replaced the webbing on the last chokestone rappel. We chose the watercourse anchor on the last rappel. The optional, upper RDC rappel point is a little exposed to get to. The water course anchor with rappel is just as cool. We took our time taking pictures and video, teaching a newby some methods and just enjoying the scenery. It took us about 5 - 6 hours at a pretty slow pace.

Good

Comment: What a cool canyon. It is short and sweet. The climb up from the road looks daunting but is easy with a short section of medium exposure. The first rappel has a massive rock pile for the anchor, good for lowering elephants. When we went through there were knee deep pools below several of the down climbs. Most can be stemmed over, a couple probably not. Some of the down climbs are challenging and could require some partner assist. The final rappel has a couple of choices for anchors. There is one anchor set up to the right (looking down canyon) To get to this anchor requires that you to traverse a small ledge over and up to get to and has some exposure that some might not be comfortable with. The other option, the one we chose, was to re-build a small rock pile anchor a short distance from the edge of the drop in the slot.
