Comments: All anchors and jumps are in good shape! The water and air were warm, a 4/3 was a bit overkill.
Our passenger vehicles made it through the full shuttle with difficulty. The exit road has a lot of deep dust on steep slopes, and the entrance road waterbars thoroughly scraped the undersides of our cars. While we were leaving, the forest service was just finishing up pulling out a stuck passenger vehicle from the entrance road. So, probably don't count on your passenger vehicle making it through.

Comment: great chilly day but we were all fine in 6/5/4 suits. A few obligatory jumps. 2 small slides. "special challenges" given the small traverse to one of the raps which is exposed, which we protected by making a hand line on a large log. Fantastic canyon. water is rather clear so we could visually spot the safety of the jumps

Comment: First Sierra canyon for this crew of bad ass girls. Two 10 year olds and a 13 year old. Moved slow and steady. 11 hour car to car. Youngest descent ever perhaps?
37 csf @ Lake Clementine. Seems to be good flows. We bypassed the second 100'rap as the flows looked a little too spicy for the little ones. There is a alternative dry 80' rap off a tree by traversing right over exposure a little ways. Be careful of loose rock. We parked on the pavement but the approach road just got graded and widened and is in really good shape, should be able to park all the way down.

Comment: Wonderful canyon to do on a repeat! The water is definitely running high - nothing crazy, but weaker swimmers may struggle. We took a relaxed day, with breaks and sections we re-jumped. All jumps and slides (and I think we hit all of them?) were deep enough. Road says it needs high clearance, but my Corolla did fine. The gate on the approach was locked (looks like some logging is going on) so expect a little extra walking on the approach. China trail on the exit was chock-full of mosquitoes - bring bug spray.

Comment: Lots of downclimbing. Anchor 3 jump is very clean. 90% jumps deep enough. 1 or 2 jumps bottom was touched but no impact. Couldn't find anchor 7 (immediately after 2nd 100ft rappel) and had to downclimb. It felt sketchier than when we looked back up at it but exercise caution. Hike out is steep, save some water. Put in road is tight, take out road is well maintained to the big clearing (RAV4 and Silverado). All anchors have great hardware on relatively new nylon. 60m static rope was enough for the longest rappel. Stay LDC on 2nd 100 ft rappel. Great route, will probably run annually.

Comment: Myo is running moderate high. Definitely higher than when I did it in mid June last year. The last rap in the watercourse looked pretty gnarly with high flow, so we downclimbed canyon right to a tree anchor which is a dry rap and also avoids the pool at the bottom.
Unless you are a super strong swimmer, be careful about jumping into a hydraulic below a waterfall in the middle of the canyon, it is really hard to get out and a couple of us had to be pulled out with rope. Instead just go canyon right to an easy jump/slide. Lots of jumps and slides, it's super fun

Comment: Lovely yet again! The flow seemed a higher than when I went at the end of June. Anchors were in good condition. I wore a full 3/2 wetsuit and was hot at the start of the canyon but comfortable at the climax rappel. Other members of the group were cold with their typical full wetsuit setups. Hydraulics were present but not dangerous. We made the R5 rap and pull with a single 220ft rope; I've adjusted the main page to reflect that this rappel is closer to 110ft.

Comment: Great day! Flow is lower than three weeks ago (as noted by where the slide lands), but still quite pushy on the second 100' waterfall. The traverse to the second anchor is challenging for those with short legs (we had a 9 year old and two teenagers).

Comment: Great canyon (controversial opinion: better than nearby Opho)! Water was still flowing, even late July in a in a low snow year. Nothing challenging for intermediate or better swiftwater canyoneers, but it was high enough to push you around a bit/make you think about where you're putting your feet and what your line is on the second bigger rappel.
We only did 5 of the 8 rappels, and jumped the other 3. All in our group were in 3mm (plus or minus) wetsuits and were content on a 85 degree day. Roads in decent condition; we were able to get a passenger vehicle to both the exit and entrance spots with some careful driving.

Comment: Rappels in flow are mild, suitable for beginners. Hydraulics - one person found it difficult to get out of whirlpool after the jump; one person should stay near whirlpool to make sure everyone is out. Good number of free climbs, slides and jumps up to 10 ft; not suitable for short/young children, even with experience. Some free climbing/jumps can be avoided by taking diff route.
Air temps ~85F. People in 5mm suits were hot; 1.5-2mm pants and jacket were perfect; knee/elbow/protective seat are highly recommended.

Comment: Class C conditions — rappels in flow, hydraulics, slides and jumps abound! Consider hanging pack for rappels in flow. Last jump is better than advertised, but of course always check depths. Two members were brand new and the canyon was maybe a bit much for one of them. Exit hike is shaded ~1hr prior to horizon sunset and longer time reflects not only having beginners along but also enjoying the canyon and trying to make this time. Air temps ~95F. Water was warmer than snowmelt.

Comment: Great! A hot day, I was glad not to be wearing more than my 3/2 farmer john wetsuit. I really enjoyed all the little jumps and the level of challenge of the raps in the moderate/low condition. Raps were flowing, but not in a way that was dangerous for beginners with strong leadership. We even found a nice slide off the falls pictured in the 24 Jul 2016: Moderate-Low!
I recommend having a good strategy to deal with the car shuttle, possibly even setting it the night before. Some members of our group experienced fire ants while waiting at the ending car location for the car shuttle to return.

Comment: A gorgeous canyon with a ton of super fun rappels and places to jump. It's a good one. The beta for mileage is off. It might be .7 miles as the crow flies, but there's no way you walk the trail and rise 1200 feet elevation in .7 miles. So that should get updated if someone has GPS tracked.

Comment: My first time returning to Myo since opening the canyon in 2014. I love the 3 new rappels to stay in the watercourse (added since the first descent because we had a problem with our drill). The flow was moderate even in mid-Sep, and very cold. We were shivering in 4:3 wetsuits despite flying through the canyon in 5 hours car-to-car and air temp of 80 deg. The roads were all open and the China Trail hike nice and clear.
