Comments: Did not realize this was a listed route, we did the google earth gamble and found this little gem. We drove up the wash in a 4Runner and parked at the moth of the canyon. Met clear cool flowing water (small trickle) about half way up the canyon. Practiced stemming in the narrows.

Not knowing what was here we were amazed by this cool little hike, worth doing if in the area!!

Comment: Canyon was dry but semi-interesting and easily/quickly accessed from the Needle Rock parking area. These narrows should be classified as a 1A in my opinion as there isn't much in terms of technicality. Be very cautious of those in side-by-sides or dirt bikes during the approach. Plenty of opportunity to explore around the Verde afterwards or even turn this canyon into a longer loop hike. This section of the river has lots of pretty areas, and you can escape the crowds by heading further upstream.

Comment: Tons of cholla parts to avoid stepping on in the canyon - that was a bit of a distraction. Last time I did this hike was early on a weekday and was nice and quiet. This time we started at 9AM on a Sunday and there was quite a bit of dirt bike/atv traffic on the hike to/from the narrows. Almost no water at all.
