Comments: This is a spectacular canyon with an easy approach. This was my first time in true quicksand where I sunk waste deep in one step. There are pockets of quicksand in the water course that make for an entertaining hike.

Comment: Water levels were low (a few calf deep sections) but we enjoyed this trip. Wore water shoes and walked through the creek most the way. Continued hiking through the wash after the canyon opened up before turning around at about the 3 mile mark. Didn't see anybody else out there.

Comment: Pinto Creek would be a nice outing for a family outing. It's very pretty and peaceful. From a canyoneers perspective, I would not recommend it as it's basically walking through a stream (with spiders!) and the walls never really close in or become sculpted.
