Comment: extracts from Facebook posts, click link for full details (privacy restrictions may apply) " Has anyone done Purgatory, UT in the Dante system since 2/12/17 We had an issue with 1/2'. webbing failing on the multistage rap on stage 2. the webbing is secured by a horn about 25 feet from the drop. The anchor was fine, but the loop holding the rapide failed. Just wondering if the loop was cut due to friction on the lip or if the knot failed. I was LMAR and was on my way down the 2nd rap when it failed. Any info would be appreciated!" Southwestern Canyoneering

Comment: Good intro to the type of canyons in this area. No wetsuits needed, only one or two spots with knee deep water. For the longest rappel we used a 130' rope for rappel and a 110' pull rope. When set properly this is just enough rope. Make sure to consider the abrasion point of the rope for the rappels. Fun quick canyon!
