Comments: ~4hours car to car. We rappelled off a tree out and on the right to bypass the first water obstacles. Ended up being a really nice 120’ drop! Anchors looked good. Lots of fun downclimbs requiring some thought. The big sequence was awesome! Fiddled tree high DCR, we did not leave any webbing here. Was around 220’ for the first stage of the final sequence. We love the final rappels on this route! Big and airy!

Comment: This is a really amazing canyon, with an incredibly unique final rappel sequence into a tight slot (you don't have to stem your way out... but bonus points if you do). Webbing was in place where it was needed; we did add some webbing to a high tree RDC above the final mandatory rappel, which is right before the final sequence. Using that tree you can skip rigging off of the dead trees in the watercourse. Thank you to those who came before us for cleaning up the edges of the final rappels.

Second the advice to veer high and to the left when encountering the berry patch on the hike out, it's no joke. You'll traverse to a short sandstone ledge, stay on top of that and traverse until you're in the trees and the berries disappear.

GPX track is spot-on. Highly recommended run.

Comment: We pulled some old webbing and Fiddle sticked the first rappel of the big sequence from the big pine up and on the right.

One member of our team completed the route in 3 rappels and downclimbed all other drops.

Lots of black bears in the area.

Comment: A really great rugged route featuring a few fun drops, engaging downclimbs and a final fantastic rappel sequence!

Approch after AB Young following ridge over was easy and relatively brush free; a lovely forest jaunt! We picked up a solid trail on the left side of the drainage that led straight to the head: a black pool. We crossed over and scrambled up the opposite side to find a tree to fiddle off of, bypassing the pool.

A couple of thoughtful downclimbs and a few rappels brought us to the big sequence. The view from here was fantastic!! We examined a few anchor choices before climbing up and out of the watercouse DCR and finding the webbing on the “big pine”. The rappel from here feels huge and airy as you travel down a sheer wall, passing climbing anchors down to the big ledge. Final drop down into the crack was equally fantastic! Both rappels are on wall for the most part.

At the bottom we followed the drainage down to the blackberry patch, then scrambled up the hill to the left towards the powerlines. We followed the powerline trail down to the next drainage over which has minimal brush and dumped us on to an established trail. This trail went straight to West Fork and out.

Overall a really great route. Would be especially good in the spring when the falls are flowing!

Comment: Route can be done in 4 to 5 hours. Special challenges are for the rebelay/ big rapp sequence. Anchors looked good. The exit, although short, is made challenging by the thick blackberry patches between the bottom of the canyon and the creek.

2 300' ropes and one 300' pull cord reccomended.
