Comments: Took the "expedited" approach to the top of the falls (just a hike, not canyoning). The waterfall is down to a trickle but the hanging pool is still full of water if you really wanted to go for a swim. It's unfortunate the canyon is littered with trash - it's a beautiful place in the midst of San Diego. We strolled along Black's beach and took the stairs back up to the Glider Port

Comment: Brought some beginners to do this fun short canyon. The Temps were great 82 degrees with cloud cover and a nice breeze, canyon water was refreshingly nippy. Finished the canyon with a nice dip in the ocean to rinse off all the sand and canyon water.

Comment: Not only closed, not worth it. Homeless camps and used needles fill this canyon

Comment: Spent 1/2 hour looking for the trail near the tower in the horrifyingly trashed brush, but were not able to find a route down among the many minor trails - perhaps it is overgrown. Don't bother, anyway - just take the well established and obvious trail at the north end of the parking lot down to the technical section and explore up canyon from there if you choose. Sandtrap is about what you'd expect from an urban canyon: the shallow narrows above the rap are nice with some fun stemming to avoid pools, the rap is very fun and scenic, and there are a few nice spots below the rap, then you're at a relatively quiet beach - despite the creepy nudists. Lovely elements, indeed, but the unbelievable amount of trash and graffiti in the canyon (nevermind the feces, used condoms, empty beer bottles and homeless person hideaways that are EVERYWHERE along the trails near the tower) detract from the loveliness a bit.

Comment: Did the shortened version of Sandtrap and rappelled the two-tiered waterfall. The water is barely running and the bottom pool is about knee deep. We walked down the beach and went up Sumner canyon.

Comment: Wearing gloves, long pants, and long sleeves will prevent any unpleasant scratches from the local shrubbery.
