Comments: Beautiful canyon. Up-climbs were challenging with heavy packs. Waist depth pools, comfortable water temperature. We started up the canyon from Kanab Creek on Sun evening, filtered as much water as we could carry at the final spring, camped above the confluence of the north and south forks, and exited up the remainder of the south fork Mon morning (starting at sunrise to beat the extreme heat). From our camp to the rim was only 2.6 miles, but the off-trail exit route was steep and rugged and took us three hours. Over that course of time one member of the group drank 5L of water, yet by the end of the hike was still showing early signs of heat exhaustion.

Comment: Egress from Kanab 0/Whispering Falls Canyon trip. Gorgeous canyon with many nuisance upclimbs.

Comment: We completed Scotty's Hollow as part of a three day trip in the Kanab Creek area: day one Kanab Point route, down Kanab Zero. Day two Whispering Falls via the sneak route, then up Kanab Creek and up Scotty's Hollow to above the chockstone upclimbs. Day three finish hiking up Scotty's and take the Scotty's route to the rim in between 4 and 5.5 hours collectively for the group. One anchor was present at on of the higher, farther upcanyon chockstone climbs. Some deep wading, one or two short swims. The climbs take some teamwork.
