Comments: Good natural anchors, lots of creek walking on bedrock, climbing through boulder gardens and big log jams, easy approach, exit from the creek is steep but short.. Final drop is tricky and long, bigger water would make this especially challenging. Tallest drop determined to be ~225’, using a 240’ rope

Comment: What a perfect day on the creek - warm fall weather, 75 and sunny. The water was icy cold, but I stayed comfortable in my shorty and rain jacket. We had no idea when the creek was last run. The existing anchors were in terrible shape, except for one: a length of webbing wrapped around a tree. It looked new, apart from a small, rusty quick link. We replaced all the anchors and even added a fresh quick link to the tree webbing. It's a mystery how that original webbing survived, or how anyone could have navigated this creek and only replaced that one anchor.

At Crackin Falls, we set up an anchor on a low-slung log, running a long loop of webbing over another questionable log. We were concerned about the rope catch due to all the cracks and crevices waiting to snag. We pulled the rope from the pool above the final 50-foot drop. The anchor's high position provided a great pull. For the last 50 feet, we installed a new anchor in the pool for a safe rappel.

        • Agree with the other trip report!! Final drop is tricky and long, bigger water would make this especially challenging.

Creek walking between the upper section and lower section wasn't bad but not as easy as the beta reads. There was some bedrock and a lot of slippery rock walking. Sometimes you could cheat into the forest for easy walking. The exit creek walk after the boulder downclimbing was brutal. It was more of a half mile climbing through a logjam than a creek walk. It was work! I have some ideas about an easier exit that I'm working on and will update the beta as I learn more. This will be a 4 star creek with a better exit.
