Comments: Approach took 1:00 on a swiftly warming morning and I was glad to find some shade in the upper reaches of the canyon. It had a lot of variety with downclimbs, short rappels, scrambling, and some short bushwhacking sections. At the large falls in the upper section I used the alternate anchor Brennen mentions to shorten the height since I only had a 200' rope and no pull cord. After this fall the canyon got even more beautiful with some rappels into grottoes and then a meadow section. I continued on into the lower portion of the drainage (see the Lower Soldier Creek page).
