Comments: We kayaked from the marina to end of the tributary a short boulder hop from the start of the ascent. Bush whacking wasn’t nearly as bad as the comments led us to believe. We took the short approach to the sketchy chockstone rappel. As previously noted, the chockstone did not instill confidence. No evidence of a previous anchor existed, so we (over) built a new cairn anchor. The second rappel does indeed have a tricky start, but nothing overly challenging. The existing webbing is in decent condition despite its color faded from the elements. The exit is where you’ll be glad to have long pants and sleeves, as the abundance of angry bush blockades will spite you for thinking this canyon was actually decently fun especially adding in the unnecessary but refreshing, tranquil and scenic kayak component.

Comment: Lots of unforgiving brush on the approach and exit. Some nice views. Took the shorter approach to the lower section of canyon. Couldn’t imagine thrashing through any more brush to add on one more rappel. Built a cairn anchor at the first rap since available chockstones were loosening and the tiny hopseed bush/tree that someone had previously anchored off was taking quite a beating. Replaced webbing at big rappel as well and removed all junk material. Won’t be repeating this one. I suppose if you hate yourself a little bit then you might enjoy it.

Comment: big rap is much fun but not much else going on with this canyon. webbing was fine for last rap. it's anchored off of the big chockstone at the top of it. walked through the campground unmolested.

Comment: Lots of cholla on approach. Some fun downclimbs and nice rap at the end. No water. Setup new webbing anchor at optional 15' downclimb, but easily downclimbed. Replaced webbing on 1st real rappel (just before big rappel) on rock pinch. Webbing at big rappel looked a little warn, but still okay, probably needs replacing soon. Big rappel is setup on good rock punch, but should be plenty of material to build deadman, if desired. Remeasured big rappel to be 150-160'. You are welcome Arizona.
