Comments: Succinct is a nice introduction to shallow canyons of the Northern Swell. There are many canyons in the area worth visiting. Don't be fooled by the shallowness. There are some challenges with anchors and route finding. We dropped in above the first rappel where the KML map shows, there are other places along the east wall that could be used to drop in sooner. We replaced most of the crusty webbing in Succinct. On the first rappel we set anchor on a lower ledge, 30 feet below the original top anchor so that we could bypass the deep, green, slimy water of the hanging pothole which is located about half way down the drop. We attempted to use a very large boulder at the edge of the third rappel to minimize web length and rope grooves, BUT As large as that boulder was, it still slipped once weighted, Soooo, we went back to the tree 30 feet back from the edge. DON'T use that large boulder on the third drop. We were able to climb around the last rappel LDC. Glad we did because of the very large, very green, very slimy pool at the bottom of that rappel. It was not visible from the top of the rappel.
